The Chamber is pleased to be working with colleagues from the British Chambers of Commerce and UK Trade & Investment on a new initiative designed to help UK plc double exports to £1trillion by 2020.

Drawing on successes of European and other counterparts, the Overseas Business Network Initiative (OBNi) centres around the creation or enhancement of business led support services in a number of key growth export markets, including;

China, Hong Kong, Japan, Thailand, Philippines, Taiwan, Indonesia, South Korea, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, India, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Thailand, Slovenia, Slovakia, Romania, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Chile, South Africa, Nigeria.

The organisations, which are led by individuals with commercial backgrounds, are specifically tasked with providing products services designed to fit the environment they are operating in, giving exporters the best opportunity to commence or increase trade.

While we understand the process will not change overnight, nor will some of the networks gain full accreditation by the British Chambers for the next 2-3 years, the The Chamber is in full backing of this change, with the view that it will significantly enhance the country's ability to sell ourselves overseas.
