What has been your top tip for keeping business going during Covid-19?
Coote O’Grady has thrived over the past year, significantly increasing our revenue and headcount. As well as being legal spend and legal operations specialists, we are committed to flexible working for our expert team, supporting a range of flexible working practices including part-time, term-time and remote working. This has been a real advantage to us during the pandemic as our team were already geared up to work from home and thanks to our flexible working policy it enabled our employees to manage their workload around family commitments and home schooling enabling us to provide continuity of service to our clients. Our employees take personal control over their schedule and work environment, so they balance their lives in a way that works for them, while our clients benefit from an energised and motivated team, this flexibility would be our top tip for keeping business going during the pandemic.

Our team is made up of extremely qualified and experienced individuals, all of whom work on a flexible basis. Flexible working is something we support here at Coote O’Grady. We measure productivity and output, not hours in the office, and it’s already paying dividends for our business, with improved morale, reduced sick days, more experienced employees and lower costs passed on to our clients. We strongly believe that our employees shouldn’t waste ten hours each week travelling from one place to another to deliver their job when the technology exists to support a modern, flexible workforce. Nor should they have to quit the working world altogether just to ensure their children get to and from school.

Why are you a Chamber Member?
We hope to increase our network across the north east and help local organisations which have a large legal spend reduce this expenditure and better manage legal budgets.
