This week we caught up with FACT to find out how they’re going further with Chamber membership.

Give us a brief overview of your business.
FACT Fighting All Cancers Together have been helping and supporting any one affected by cancer for over 13 years. FACT have been organic in its approach to providing services and support, asking the right questions and listening to service users as to what they need and what they have found to be lacking in the service provision after diagnosis and treatment. We have provided counselling, coffee mornings, specific care groups, exercise sessions or all ranges, bra fitting and mastectomy wear and wigs. In fact what ever anyone needs who contacts us we strive to provide an answer or support.
During the past year we have continued to support providing a remote service provision. Through door stop checks, kindness kits and food parcels and the life saving, essential free counselling services have been paramount during these difficult times.
What has been your top tip for keeping business going during Covid-19?
Community spirit in the North East. Be prepared to hit the ground running. Be innovative and resourceful in providing a remote set of services to keep service users and new beneficiaries supported. Be mindful of the ever changes environment which we live in and the impacts it has on the community, staff, volunteers and family.
