How many people do you employ?

We have 14 employees active on our training and rescue Centre. MRS as a company employ approx. 150 employees nationwide in other MRS training and rescue facilities.

In a nutshell, tell us about your business…

For over 115 years, MRS Training & Rescue (formerly known as Mines Rescue Service), has developed specialist skills, experience, and knowledge from working in difficult and potentially high-risk environments.

Our team of qualified trainers not only provide expert health and safety training but can impart real life scenarios of situations they have faced, to bring the learning to life.

Our consultants are passionate about health and safety and are highly experienced in major hazard industry yet hold knowledge of general health and safety to satisfy the needs of less hazardous work which still presents significant risk. Our ethos is to provide quality work which is meaningful and useful and not merely produced as a tick the box exercise. We have a number of consultants based around the UK meaning that help is always close by.

In addition to our experience in the workplace, all consultants are members of the most widely recognised health and safety-chartered body, which assists us to remain current with legislation, guidance, and best practice techniques.

MRS is certified to international standards for health and safety, quality, and environment. The knowledge gained in achieving this certification means we are well placed to offer advice on compliance with these standards, and more importantly best practice.

Rescue Teams specialising in Confined Space and Working at Height – providing 24/7 cover throughout the UK.

Multi-disciplined, experienced experts providing industrial emergency and training services when and where you need it.

A specialist service providing rescue operations for employees who are, or maybe, at risk of requiring it when working in medium or high risk confined spaces. For instance – power station outages, maintenance of vats and vessels in factories and breweries, boiler inspections, utility company sewer

maintenance and inspection – or any confined space where there is a specified risk in which workers are operating.

We provide mobile confined space training courses throughout the UK.

If you require training at your office, factory, site, or business location we can travel to you to provide onsite confined space training.

Our state-of-the-art mobile training units are designed to provide everything we require to teach our confined space courses. Our units can replicate conditions and situations found within confined spaces so course attendees can learn practical skills anywhere.

What has been your top tip for keeping business going during Covid-19?

MRS are recognised as a covid secure training Centre. Our company SHEQ managers have developed company coronavirus operating procedures that requires individual covid 19 risk assessments that include classroom safety control measures of hygiene and sanitizing schedules. MRS instill confidence and peace of mind to our clients with operating procedures and controls that are proven and maintained. We provide all our clients with copies of our operating procedures prior to any work. MRS have trained over 20,000 candidates throughout the pandemic supporting companies that are classed as an essential worker with zero covid 19 cases recorded to date.
