Haines Watts launches new North East VAT team
Haines Watts have strengthened their North East presence, by launching their new VAT team. The team will support clients with the complexities of indirect tax.
Haines Watts has strengthed its North East presence by promoting three new partners. This comes at the firm look to play a significant role in supporting their growing client base during these unprecedented times.
Top 15 accountancy firm Haines Watts has bolstered its leadership team in the North East by promoting three new Partners. It comes as the firm looks to play a significant role in supporting its growing client base with the unprecedented challenges faced by businesses.
The Partners have all been promoted from internal talent and will operate across the firm’s Newcastle, Darlington and Leeds offices, advising clients on a range of issues including outsourced accountancy, VAT, and tax incentives and reliefs.
Craig Horsfall has been promoted to Partner, having joined Haines Watts in 2016. With over 15 years' experience, Craig heads up the North East’s accounts and outsourcing department and plays an integral role in advising the firms growing number of SME clients. He has recently completed Haines Watts’ accredited Leadership Development Programme and sits on the firm’s national IT committee.
Speaking about his new position, Craig said: “I’m thrilled to have been appointed Partner alongside my colleagues. Over the past year, we’ve worked hard to develop and grow the practice, implement new technologies and systems, and integrate two teams into a new office - all whilst delivering a great service for our clients. I’m excited to see what the future holds as we continue to deliver solutions that enable business owners to overcome the challenges they face, whatever they may be.”
Joining him is Andrew Needham who takes on a new position of VAT Partner, having joined Haines Watts last year and has achieved his goal of building a North East VAT team from the ground up. Andrew has over 20 years' experience working with clients across a vast range of sectors, from local authorities and the not-for-profit sector, to PLC’s and multi-nationals.
He said: “Since joining Haines Watts last year, I’ve had strong ambitions to grow our VAT offering in the North East. We’ve gone from strength to strength, and I’ve now got the backing of a great team who share my enthusiasm and dedication. I'm very pleased to have received this promotion to VAT Partner as we look to support business owners both through the current crisis and as they recover.”
Joining them as part of the senior team is Sara Andrews who has taken on the position of Associate Partner. Sara joined Haines Watts as manager back in 2018 and has played a pivotal role in the growth of the tax incentives and reliefs department. She works with innovative and creative businesses across the country, to ensure that they are benefitting from the support measures available and tax reliefs available.
