Founded in 1935, Newcastle International Airport is the largest airport in the North East and serves around 4.5 million passengers every year. Our airline partners fly to around 80 destinations direct and offer global connectivity through hub airports such as New York Newark, Heathrow, Paris CDG, Brussels, Amsterdam, Dublin, Copenhagen and Dubai.
Newcastle Airport supports 3,200 jobs on site and a further
4,600 across the region, and the presence of the airport contributes approximately
£646m to the North East economy on an annual basis.
Our aim is to be the most welcoming airport in the UK and in 2014 Which? magazine readers voted us the best large airport in the country for the second year running.
"Newcastle Airport is delighted to be a Chamber Partner, as it allows the regions gateway airport to be better involved in regional affairs, linked into key policy discussions, network with other key businesses, and enjoy direct access to nationally important decision makers. We are also keen to work with the Chamber and members to shape government decisions on aviation and maximise the opportunities afforded to the region by the Airport."
