Pearson Engineering awarded Export Business of the Year
Pearson Engineering has been awarded the Export Business of the Year award. Based in Newcastle, the company provides Armed Forces around the world with products to enhance the capability of their armoured vehicles.
Their products enable armoured vehicles to ‘defend, move and fight’ and they have an essential role in ensuring mobility on the battlefield, keeping soldiers safe, and denying mobility to others.
In 2020, Pearson was awarded a Gold Award for its efforts to support ‘defence people’ in the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme.
The company operates globally, and its customers range across North America, South America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Oceania, with exports forming the majority of their turnover.
In recent years it also opened up new markets including Turkey, Ukraine, and the Czech Republic. As well as geographic diversification, the business now also works across various Armoured Vehicle segments and offers manufacturing service which increase workshare into defence from the North East
“I’m extremely pleased to receive this prestigious export award on behalf of the company. The whole team at Pearson Engineering has worked tirelessly, over many years, to grow our presence in international markets, and today exports represent more than 90% of our turnover. I would like to thank our staff for all their hard work, and also our trusted supply chain partners in the North East, for helping us win this award.” Craig Priday, Managing Director at Pearson Engineering.
The category was judged by the Tees Valley Combined Authority.
