The Chamber's manifesto sets out the measures we believe will empower North East businesses to play a greater role in delivering economic growth for the UK.

What is the Manifesto?

The North East England Chamber of Commerce is preparing to power ahead as the region’s business voice, with the launch of its Manifesto 2017.

The Chamber’s Manifesto will be developed through extensive consultation with the thousands of businesses in their membership, including surveys, face-to-face meetings and through a network of local meetings and policy forums, with the mutual aim to drive the North East forward.

The Chamber is seeking your views for its Manifesto 2017. Hear from Chamber CEO James Ramsbotham on why you should get involved.

What has the Chamber been working towards during 2016?

With five fundamental campaigns, the Manifesto in 2016 is a representation of what North East business people are calling for in order to grow stronger, remain competitive and secure a successful future. The Chamber’s priorities for 2016 have been:

Influential North East – ensuring the region punches its weight on the national stage and has the ability to shape its own future.

Global North East – improving our interaction with the wider world to create new opportunities for businesses.

Connected North East – providing our businesses with better access to markets and customers.

Competitive North East – local business environments that encourage growth and enterprise.

Working North East - ensuring businesses are able to access the right talent and invest in skills for the future.
