Businesses have constructive meeting with DExEU Minister
North East England Chamber of Commerce members met with Steve Baker MP, Minister for the Department for Exiting the EU in Newcastle to get an update on Brexit plans.
Jonathan Walker, head of policy and campaigns, North East England Chamber of Commerce said: “This meeting was a good opportunity to speak directly to one of the Ministers implementing Brexit. Many businesses have concerns about what the future will hold when we leave the EU, so meetings like this are beneficial. We will continue to make sure that our business messages are heard during the negotiations.”
Minister for Exiting the EU, Steve Baker said: “In the North East over the past few days, I have talked to a variety of different businesses from a range of sectors and heard all about their priorities and preparations for exit.
“The insight and understanding that they have is hugely valuable as we proceed through the negotiations to secure a deal that works for the whole of the UK.”
