Discover what's happening at this year's Chamber Showcase
One of the largest business to business networking opportunities supported by the Chamber takes place next week, Thursday, 2 May at the Kingston Park Falcons Rugby Ground.
Hundreds of company representatives are due to take part in the NE Expo and Chamber Showcase, organised by Fresh Start Events. Part of the event will be a series of seminars giving attendees the chance to get inspirational advice and business tips for success.
One of those speaking at a Chamber seminar, taking place at 12.30pm, is Andy Dixon from Oatein, a Chamber member and global exporter based in North Tyneside. He was recently successful in winning support from Dragons Den’s Peter Jones on the BBC programme.
At the event he will outline how the company has grown so quickly to produce more than 2.5m bars, flapjacks and cookies which have been sold in supermarkets, pharmacies and speciality health outlets in around 60 countries worldwide – with exports accounting for 90% of turnover.
There is also an Inspiring Females session at 11.30am on the theme of ‘Bold risks and a bit of luck’. Two women business leaders, Paula Gascoigne from Smile for Life children’s charity and Julie Underwood, Chamber international trade director will be interviewed by editor of North East Times Alison Cowie, about their careers and what advice they have for other women.
