NECC Reaction to Revised GDP Figures

 

Responding to ONS figures that show the UK economy shrank by less than previously thought between April and June, NECC Director of Policy, Ross Smith, said:

NECC was not surprised to see that GDP figures for between April and June have been revised upwardsResponding to ONS figures that show the UK economy shrank by less than previously thought between April and June, NECC Director of Policy, Ross Smith, said:

"It does not come as a huge surprise to see the figures being revised upwards given the positive indicators from our members and the improving labour market stats.

"Taking all economic factors into account, it was suspected that these figures may have been slightly more positive. They certainly do not represent a strong economy and the challenge now lies with the Government to pull out all the stops and make kick-starting growth its major priority."
