Ready for Business roadshowAn innovative business start-up initiative is hitting the road with a series of high profile events as Ready for Business pushes forward in its goal to deliver 900 new jobs for the North East.

Ready for Business is the start-up programme delivered by enterprise agency TEDCO and follows investment from the Regional Growth Fund and a partnership with Barclays Bank to deliver intensive start-up training and support for new and developing businesses across the UK.

The Ready for Business roadshow will be visiting every corner of the North East between the 16th and 22nd March 2013. The series of events will bring together TEDCO business advisors and enterprising individuals with experienced entrepreneurs to help attendees turn their ideas into future business opportunities.

Carole White, Business Development Manager at TEDCO said:

"To date, Ready for Business has worked with hundreds of people looking to access our network of business advisors to get a new venture off the ground. Although we principally specialise in helping new businesses obtain introductions to lenders and explore avenues to attract investment, we also offer an in-depth assessment process starting with the ideas stage through to the business start and for the first time, mentoring beyond the start-up stage.

"We aim to work with a broad mix of people, including people looking to purchase an existing business or even those who have experienced redundancy and are looking for a new challenge. We expect the informal environment of the roadshow to offer individuals the chance to learn from experienced entrepreneurs such as Nicky Gray, the award-winning founder of Kiki's Kabin and Fidgets Children's Hair Salon and Sarah Pittendrigh, local founder of national franchise business, Simply Bows and Chair Covers to discover more about what it takes to set up and run a business."

The Ready for Business Roadshow will be visiting the following locations:

Saturday 16th March, 10am – 12pm at the Travelodge, Silverlink, North Tyneside
Tuesday 19th March, lunch event at 12pm -2pm at the Gala Theatre, Durham featuring key speaker, Sarah Pittendrigh, owner of Simply Bows & Chair Covers
