The Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings has been published today. This shows that median gross weekly wages in the North East at April 2010 were £442.30, the lowest of any region in the UK with the exception of Northern Ireland. The UK average was £498.80. The pay gap between men and women in the region was 18.4%, lower than the 19.8% average gap in the UK. Full details are available here.
